The First Retreat was held at the Government Model Secondary School, Berry Street in 1989 with a Record of 69 participants in attendance. The need for accommodation moved the retreat programme to the Albert Academy which attracted 600 participants and that meant gross inconvenience too. This led to the purchase of the property now seated on a 25 – Acre piece of Land at Grafton between 1992 – 2004.
The first Retreat held on that land was in 1995 with a record attendance running over 1,000 participants including those from the regions. Due to the ever-increasing number of participants with the attendant administrative and logistical problems, the General Retreats be held at District Level.
